soft rotation #1
The try-out edition of a monthly concerts for sound enthusiasts is ready for 2024!
We do this not because it is easy but because we thought it was easy.
soft rotation is a monthly concert organized collectively by sound enthusiasts. We warmly introduce rotation as our core concept, offering a platform for newcomers and artists who share our commitment to exploration by embracing errors, mistakes in try-outs. soft rotation is a concert series of time-based sound performances encompassing practices, actions, computer music, electronics, acoustic music, and audio-visual.
We invite you to join us, hang out, and talk with the artists, exchanging knowledge and ideas following each concert.

Jannika Lösche (DE)

Chaya Shen (TW)
Born in Taiwan, having a mini-job in Köln. Chaya Shen works with time-based media, its materiality, and the surrounding interrelations. Her work delves into the convergence of geopolitical influences, particularly in relation to women's bodies.
In this performance, she realizes a useful tool for Ausländer, "German for Artist" by the Danish artist Stine Marie Jacobsen. This handbook helps "nicht-so-gut-deutsch" people build connections with the German contemporary cultural scene and entitles the artists through linguistic aid. During the process(living, breathing, or reading), I speak of my identities as becoming fremd, becoming a Fremder.
